A nice colorful display of all the ways people communicate these days. What I think is important is to recognize that this image illustrates the variety of ways in which individuals approach each to accomplish certain tasks, but I'd hesitate to assign universal levels of intimacy. For some, email is the primary mode of communication among of a particular level of closeness (say 5 on a scale of 10), while others accomplish the same task via IM or text message. It's certainly clear that we all use different media to communicate, and to different levels of intimacy; the fascinating part is to see how individuals come to make those assignments. This can be as (relatively) meaningless as 'ease of use,' or as functional as 'I can only email my friends while at work, where Facebook is blocked.' Just a thought.
